Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Kara Ali is a singer/songwriter hailing from New Jersey. She has been writing a fusion of rock, folk and soul since she was in High School. She was the band leader for “The Cables”, a band that she started out at Northwestern University in Chicago that combines the spirit of rock, the sweetness of folk, and the sultriness of soul. Kara has played at venues ranging from Chicago’s “Uncommon Ground” to NY’s Historic “Bitter End”. She recorded her last two EPs at Soundwaves Studio in Union, NJ where she worked with former Socratic drummer and bassist, Thomas Stratton. Later, her EPs were sent off to be mastered by West West Side Music’s Alan Douches , who has worked on albums for the likes of everyone from Sufjan Stevens, to Toro Y Moi to Ben Folds, some of Kara’s biggest heroes and influences. Kara Ali is now working with producer, Ken Ross, and producer Keith Allen of Curren$y Committee to morph her solo sound into a new fusion of pop, rock, folk and dance that is sure to get her fans excited. Now back on the east coast, she has linked up with an awesome new band: Adam Walter on lead guitar, Pete Herrmann on Drums and Gil Turetsky on the Bass. They add a new and progressive sound to Kara's songwriting and the growth has been tremendous. New sounds expected to drop this year.
