Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Joseph C. Henry is the fifth of eight children born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, CA to musically gifted parents Elder Robbie Henry, Sr and Debbie Henry, Sr who later became Pastor and Wife. Raised in the church, his father a well-known minister and singer and his mother, a master musician formed the group "The Henry Children," later changed to "Divine Union," singing in churches and events throughout greater Los Angeles. While in grade school, he was in a group called ‘LA City Kidz’ with Mrs. Kelly-Weekes as the director. The inner city group performed at citywide public events.

Now known as J. Henry, he decided to take his passion for music to the stage as a singer, songwriter, musician and producer. In his most memorable project he composed, wrote and sung "Fight: A Military Tribute" ft. LoveJoy Means. While the title speaks for itself, the inspiration for the song stemmed from J. Henry having three brothers in active duty in the U.S. Army; as well as his father and grandfathers, and a host of family and friends in the military. J. Henry also produced, wrote and sang the title track on the upcoming indie film "Is Love Real," set to release spring 2014.

Ready to release his highly anticipated debut album "I.Am.J.Henry" in the fall of 2013, he has been compared to the likes of Usher with his smooth vocals and soulful delivery, but has his own distinct style and personality. Leading off with the club hit ‘The Code 2.5’’ also penning and producing "So Beautiful," an ode to his mother, and writing the cross genre single "Un Baile Mas," he is bound to make his mark in the industry.

When asked, "How would you classify your genre of music?" He replied, "That's the thing, I can't classify my music. I like to make all types of music and I don't limit myself. When people say think outside of the box, I don't have to because I never put myself inside the box."
