Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

The Quick & Easy Boys

The Quick & Easy Boys, a power-trio out of Portland, Oregon, create their own blend of garage-pop, psychedelic rock and soul. Imagine The Minutemen, The Police, Deer Tick and Funkadelic rolled into one.

Formed in 2005, The Quick & Easy Boys quickly made a name for themselves in Eugene, Oregon before heading north and building a Portland, OR fanbase. Their shows are an interactive party with electrifying stage antics and profound musical moments as the trio pours out every ounce of their energy, leaving nothing behind. The band has gained the reputation for moving a crowd all-night long whether it be a big festival or a tiny watering hole. The core members—Jimmy Russell on guitar/vocals, Sean Badders on vocals/bass, and Michael Goetz on drums—have continued to evolve musically…and audiences continue their enthusiastic calling of “Yeah Bud!” at every show. One critic from Oregon Music News even prophesied “I predict that within a couple of years, the band’s rallying-cry, ‘Yeah, Bud!’ will be on bumper stickers from Beaverton to Bonnaroo and beyond.”

The 2008 release of Bad Decisions With Good People left fans raving about their unique and vibrant sound and led to their their first national tour. Two more tours followed the release of Red Light Rabbit in 2010, and in 2013 the Boys dropped their latest effort, Make It Easy, backed by constant multi-regional and national touring. They’ve opened both locally and nationally for Deer Tick (guitarist Jimmy Russell is featured on their latest album Negativity), and a list of other artist that reflect the diverse inspirations behind The Quick & Easy Boys’ music, including The Meat Puppets, Blitzen Trapper, Southern Culture on the Skids, J. Roddy Walston and The Business, The Bridge, The Pimps of Joytime, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Bob Wayne & The Outlaw Carnies, Vince Herman and many others.

“Maybe Bootsy Collins wasn’t listening to Farmer John when he said the Funkadelic bassman could sleep in his barn, because it appears Bootsy did have relations with John’s daughter, and out popped Portland’s The Quick & Easy Boys. Honky-tonk ain’t never been this funky, and funk ain’t never been this close to a cornfield. Riff-heavy and driven by a stoned-out beat wrested from the Mothership, The Quick & Easy Boys’ sound is a one-of-a-kind cerebral treat. Maybe this is what it sounds like when Willie Nelson puffs extra purple herb.”~ WILLAMETTE WEEK
