Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Salvador Santana

Salvador Santana 1 Photo

Born into a life of music, Salvador first began playing the drums at the age of three, under the direction of his father, Carlos Santana. It was his experimentation with the drums that eventually led him to begin taking piano lessons at the age of six, and eventually, studying at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts and Cal Arts. He's worked alongside iconic artists, such as Money Mark (Beastie Boys) and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, as well as co-writing with his father on the Grammy-winning "El Farol" from the 1999 album Supernatural. There's no doubting that he has become an expert at his craft, taking each collaboration and allowing him to grow as an artist, which eventually turned into the Salvador Santana Band (SSB). It catapulted this creative experiment that became "Rise Up." On an EP where he found his voice through a message of positivity and empowerment. It's a musical experience based on collaboration and a discovery of unique, though provoking sounds and story lines. The positive message found on “Rise Up.” It inspired him to ensure that making music would never be about personal glory, but about inspiring those around him on a daily basis to live humbled, with love and positivity. “I want to use music in a positive way and give back to people in need. There can never be enough people who do that.”
