Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

David Haack (pronounced Hawk) is a singer/songwriter/guitarist based in Los Angeles, CA.
He grew up in Des Moines, IA, where he began touring within different band collaborations at the age of 16. The band that David toured most with was the David Haack Trio, which included school-mates Colin Peterson on bass and Patrick Baker on drums. The three Ankeny graduates played and toured together for more than 10 years, and along the way opened for Billy Ray Cyrus on a few stops of his national tour as well as being a featured guest artist with him at a few other shows.
David moved to Los Angeles in 2005, where he found early success in both the acting and music professions. He earned his first TV credit as 'Hannah Montana's' guitar player, "Davie", and made a close friend in Billy Ray Cyrus. Cyrus opened many doors for David, as he played with him in national talk shows "SoapTalk" and "Good Morning America", along with being a guest artist on Cyrus' tours through Iowa and Indiana. David also earned a supporting role in a 2009 film release, "Flying By", which also starred Cryus, Heather Locklear, Patricia Neal, and David Zayas. David has also starred in a pilot for 20th Century FOX, titled "The Apostles".
In 2008, David recorded a new demo in which he played every instrument, while also self producing, mixing, and engineering the project. 'The 3915 Demo' was the birth of some new songs for David, and in late 2008, David moved back to Des Moines to begin and complete work on another self produced and self engineered album entitled "Who Am I", which was the completion of his original demo. David joined forces once again with Peterson and Baker to record with the full band, and released the album independently in Spring of 2009. Later that year, David returned to live again in Los Angeles, picking up where he left off with both acting and music. Currently David can be seen around Los Angeles playing both solo acoustic shows and joining forces with his musical friends for full band shows.
