Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Hi, I'm Andrew Zap, a Brooklyn-based musician and visual artist who was born in raised in a small town 25 miles north of NYC. Like so many artists, my work is, in its purest sense, my form of meditation. As a singer/songwriter, I've always believed that the more feeling and love I can put behind my music, the greater the chance a listener has of feeling that emotion, too. At the end of the day, I just feel lucky to have a strong, enduring passion for something I really enjoy doing. Singing, songwriting, and recording is when I'm happiest and most in the moment. As the singer/songwriter for the soul/reggae band ZAP & THE NATURALS, in the course of playing many shows and festivals, I've shared the bill with amazing performers the past few years like SWEAR & SHAKE, DISPATCH, and G-LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE. I've also had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with truly talented people—DISPATCH's Chuck Fay mixed ZAP & THE NATURALS' 2013 release, HALF PAST THREE. Chuck, along with G-LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE's Jimmy Jazz, were guest musicians on HALF PAST THREE's BREAKOUT track, BRING THE SUN. This same track can be heard in Kathy Leichter's 2014 documentary, HERE ONE DAY. This spring, I kick off my solo tour, LATE NIGHT/LO-FI, where I'll be playing more intimate shows across the country.
