Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Still Gandhis

Still Gandhis 1 Photo

"Still Gandhis" will be joined by some of their recording artists and songwriter friends with different guest stars on select Saturdays once a month. "Still Gandhis" are still disciples of the raw, soulful, funkified gospel laid down by George Clinton, Sly Stone, The Isley Brothers, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, War, Curtis Mayfield, and Roebuck “Pops” Staples back in the day. How else do you explain the rootsy, acoustic-based slacker funk; swaggering horns, smooth, multi-part, multi-gender vocals; groovin' vibes; slippery bass runs; and free-flowing, feet-get-movin' beats that drove their albums as Boxing Gandhis to Top 5 on Adult Album Alternative, garnered a Billboard Music Best Music Video of the Year award and had them opening for the likes of Dave Matthews Band, Hootie and the Blowfish, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, 4 Tops, War, Huey Lewis and the News, Fishbone, Spearhead, Dave Mason The group's lineup hasn't changed much, with saxophonist/lead vocalist Ernie Perez, guitarist/vocalist Eric Fowler, saxophonist/vocalist Alfredo Ballesteros, keyboardist vocalist Ted Andreadis, bassist Yukihide Takiyama and drummer Gary Pavlica. “The more colors, the more accurate the picture” is still this multi-race, multi-gender band's philosophy. Come on down for an unforgettable evening of good vibes and great tunes.
