Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Kendy grew up in the farm fields and mountains of central Pennsylvania, but now calls Los Angeles home. The mix of farm life and city life is prominent in her music. Often compared to Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen there is an honesty and depth in her lyrics.

Music was always prominent in her life. She began singing at a very young age for audiences of 20 to 20,000. The farming connection presented opportunities to sing the National Anthem at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI, the California State Fair, Pennsylvania Farm Show and many political events.

After college graduation and intensive theatrical study, Kendy moved to Melbourne, Australia to study creative writing. It was in Melbourne where she met an incredible group of folk musicians that coerced her to get out and perform the songs she had written. This nurturing environment laid the ground work for Kendy's original music.

An expired visa brought her back to the states. She set-up shop in NYC and plays regularly at the many great venues across the city. including: Pete's Candy Store, Rockwood Music Hall, the Rockshop, Sidewalk Cafe, Postcrypt Coffee House, Pianos, and many great art spaces and lofts. Adam Chilenski (bass) and Caitlin Becker (piano, vocals) are core band members.

She released her second album titled, "Always, Somewhere, It is Morning" on July 11, 2014. The album was recorded and mixed by Andy Baldwin of Rola Pola Studios in Brooklyn, NY and mastered by Brian Lele of Santa Cecilia Sound in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
