Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

By day, Joseph John is a full time floral designer and event planner, creating fabulous one of a kind events kind of like the Gay Martha Stewart. He has been the official florist to Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS for the past 13 years. He has worked with such celebrities as Jennifer Holiday, Phyllis Newman, Robin Strasser, and more. He was part of the set design team for the one night benefit of Auntie Mame with Charles Busch. By night he is a producer and host of Qtalk. He began his producing career in 2001 with the show Judy and Me, which eventually moved to Off Broadway. He later brought his interest in AIDS volunteer work into play and started producing cabaret benefit shows, including the MAC and BISTRO award-winning series Cabaret Cares. Cabaret Cares brings together the best of the cabaret and Broadway community, to help raise funds for Help Is On The Way Today, the non-for-profit that he founded to help children living with HIV and AIDS in New York City. He has also worked with the casts of The Producers, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Wicked, A Chorus Line, The Little Mermaid and more. When he is not producing or designing flowers he love spending time at the beach on Fire Island. He is also very single and looking for Prince Charming until he comes along Joseph says as the song goes "Bring On The Men".
