Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Kelly Hafner

Kelly Hafner 1 Photo

Kelly Hafner became a singer after she heard Marvin Gaye singing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" out of her mom's record player at the age of three. Amazed by the transformative magic and feeling that music created within her and humanity across the globe, Kelly knew she wanted to sing all different kinds of music. She grew up singing in school plays and choirs, eventually making it to Berklee College of Music and graduating in the Class of 2012.
She has been creating and performing music ever since her first independent single mixtape was independently released on Soundcloud in 2014. She sang in an original band Fire and performed around San Francisco, CA in bars and clubs with musicians she knew around SF and Berklee (Jon Merker, Spencer Selmon, Tim Bolger, and Ian Nicklan).
In 2016 Kelly moved to Austin, TX and met the bartender (Sam Diaz (guitar)) at an underground jazz club, and started writing songs with him. Soon enough they found other musicians (Daniela Pennycook (violin), Shawn Hallman (bass), from around Austin to come together and play soul music to form Kelly Hafner's band, along with occasional guest performers.
Kelly is currently finishing up her full length studio album recording out of Edgewater Studios in Houston, TX and will be distributed by Sony RED.
New album release date coming soon!
