Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Greg Hester

It’s Van Morrison as you remember him in your heart when the inimitable tribute artist Greg Hester takes the stage with “Domino: A Van Morrison Experience.  The Atlanta-based Hester recreates the aura of the rock idol onstage with all the joy of the diminutive Irish giant complete with kicks, shouts, struts… all the classic stage presence of the Belfast Cowboy.

Greg Hester captures all the subtle nuances of “Van the Man” as he tears through the best of his mighty songbook.  Selections performed include of course, “Domino,” “Brown-Eyed Girl,” “Moondance,” “Tupelo Honey,” “Into the Mystic,” “Wild Night,” “Have I Told You Lately” and many others.

“I was having surreal flashbacks playing with these guys,” crows former Morrison keyboardist Mark T. Jordan.  “A great singer with a great band!”

Born Gregory Hester in Augusta Georgia, Greg has crafted a unique mix of southern soul and jump-up-and-dance rock n’ roll.  One can feel the conviction in his powerful voice, heartfelt lyrics and constant energy, all of which guides an audience ‘Into The Mystic’ as only he and Van the Man can.

A solo career that spans twenty-five years, Greg has worked opening spots for Sharon Jones, Five for Fighting, Johnny Winter, Warren Zevon, Hank Williams Jr., Commander Cody, Tuck and Patti, David Lindley, Robin Trower, Warren Haynes, and Tower of Power.

Accompanying Hester on stage is a group of seasoned, world-class music veterans who have recorded and played with countless major artists throughout their careers.   They always bring their A-game.
