Charley's is my kind of place - Willie Nelson

Take a step back in time and find true Aloha.

Charley's Restaurant and Saloon, established in 1969, is an award-winning, Maui Landmark.

Charley’s is a reflection of the culture of Maui, the essence of its foods, and the warm spirit of entertainment and Aloha.

We welcome you to a favorite community gathering place and celebrated destination spot.

Charley’s is located in Paia, Maui, Hawaii; a former sugar-plantation town that serves as the crossroads to the North Shore of Maui.  Known for its large waves and ideal conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite-boarding, the North Shore of Maui is a water playground. The North Shore is also known for its rainforests, waterfalls and hiking.

Paia maintains its small-town, old Hawaii charm, and is now a bustling destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee and gelato.

At Charley’s you never know who might be sitting next to you. It’s long been a favorite hang-out for surfers, adventurers, writers, hippies, rock stars, artists, business leaders, celebrities, and all types, looking to get away and find the ultimate in Maui hospitality.

Willie Nelson’s Favorite Spot on Maui! See him at work at Charley’s here!

While critics may struggle to define PASTEL GHOST’s music with tidy descriptors like witch-rave or blog-house, it’s evident that PASTEL GHOST is creating sounds that take flight beyond any genre boundaries. On her debut LP ABYSS (80s Ladies Records), the Oakland-based artist laces elements of dream-pop, post-punk, and electronica to create sounds that can only be described as otherw...

The noise that emanates from these ruffians is heavily reliant on the vibe. Imagine that lone, solitary man on the front porch in Mississippi, playing only for the God within and around, suddenly splitting open – wild with color – Think Blind Willie McTell giving Ray Charles an Indian rug burn and The Kinks bleeding all over them. This should give you a good sense of what it’s li...

Despite the obscene unlikelihood of having done so, the four of us, traveling through space at different great and complex velocities, somehow converged together and continued to meet a couple times a week to make loud noises from several fandangled contraptions to correspond into some sort of organized form of sound over synchronized periods of time. We have captured the resulting audio of this p...

    Cool Ghouls View Profile

Heavily influenced by pop, psych, surf, and folk-rock of the sixties, Cool Ghouls sound a lot like what I imagine the Byrds would sound like if they always cranked it to 11. They write catchy melodies, but their tight harmonies sung at the top of their lungs are highlights for me. Throw in a little lo-fi production, and you have some material that is meant to be played loud with a smile on your fa...

"It’s hard to know which element of Turtle Giant’s compelling sound is the most intriguing. Is it the old-school psych riffs that they bring to their tunes? Or perhaps the gruff, smouldering and warm allure of António Con...
